Nishmas Day 28 | Mrs. Jackie Glaser
Become a Vessel for Miracles
Making room for Him. We all want to experience miracles in our lives. We want to get married, to raise healthy, happy children, to succeed in life. In pursuing those miracles, we try everything we can to take control, to push through the things we think are holding us back. But what if — we’re the ones holding ourselves back? In the words of Jackie Glazer: I found out that I was expecting a baby on Shvii shel Pesach — at the very moment the sea split, the email informing me arrived in my inbox. I knew this wasn't a coincidence; it was Hashem's reminder that He’d been orchestrating everything all along. It took years of waiting until I experienced my two miracles. First, I spent fourteen years dating, wondering if marriage would ever come. Then, after finally meeting my husband, we waited five interminable years for our precious daughter. During those endless waits — when I wasn’t certain that salvation would ever come, I learned the most powerful lesson of my life. I learnt how to surrender. When I finally released my white-knuckled grip on my plans and timelines, something profound shifted. I stopped viewing my reality as a punishment, something to fight — and that’s when I was able to receive Hashem’s blessing. Each one of us has direct access to Hashem’s direct intervention. When we get to that place of surrender — where we can genuinely let go, and recognize that Hashem is in control, we become bigger, stronger vessels that can hold tremendous miracles.
