אין לנו מלך עוזר וסומך אלא אתה — There is no King, no Helper, no Support — only You.

When we’re going through a challenge, it’s not only the pain of the situation that keeps us up at night.

The uncertainty can be just as difficult — not knowing what will be or when things will change.

And that uncertainty has a way of keeping us stuck, clinging to what's familiar even when what's familiar is hard. 

We see this in Klal Yisroel's cry in the midbar: נתנה ראש ונשובה מצרימה — let's go back to Mitzrayim. Not because they had forgotten the suffering. They hadn't.

But Mitzrayim was a place they’d know for years, and the Midbar stretched out ahead of them with no guarantees. 

There’s a space many of us find ourselves in at different points in life called the waiting place. Whether it’s a refuah, a shidduch, or a parnassah, waiting can feel so uncertain, even pointless. 

But the Torah teaches us that waiting is not time lost, it is an integral part of the journey itself.

אין לנו מלך אלא אתה .

We know Hashem can change everything in a single moment, opening doors we never could have found to bring the yeshuah we’ve been hoping for. 

And yet, while we wait for that moment, we can hold on to something so comforting:

אין לנו מלך עוזר וסומך אלא אתה.

Hashem is not only the One who saves us at the end. 

He is the One who carries us through the middle — through the uncertainty, the confusion, and through every step of the waiting.
